So I confidently went on to the DFS website scrolled a normal amount looking for a sofa. I've got all the Major Furniture: TV, TV stand, Book shelves, small table. I've still got some more to buy but it is all there. Now all I need is a sofa for cozy days and to make my self more comfortable, mostly to get closer to start watching TV. I was looking for a white or close to white colour sofa. I've bought all wooden furniture, in the grain and colour, and I might bright in painted wooden further later or more intricate and ornate designs of a different kind. I still need a desk, dining table some work benches and work stations for my projects. Different projects need different things to get then started, worked on and finished.
I was so excited on the day. The sofa is the Amaya chenille formal back grande seater sofa. I ordered a three seater because it would fill the space nicely and again make watching TV and lounging more comfortable. I like cushion but their not necessary. From the website picture description and feeling this sofa would have enough space to put cushions at the back and site quickly if for a short time or something. I'm on the tenth floor. There is an elevator that is a standard size but it is on the large side of normal. It is not just two people elevator. The ceiling is tall enough and it definitely wide enough.

On the day the two men call and asked where my house is, I explained where it is and what it looks like. I wait the men then show up at the door of my apartment and inform me that my flat is too small for the sofa. I listened, then thought about it, how? they said my door, my ceiling, my entry way. They are all standard size. Every door in England and Wales is this size. The entry shouldn't be a problem it as an open entry way straight to the living room. The guy then says even if you take the arms off the space is too small. According the Website taking the arms off should mean that is is easier to get into most space considering that these are bigger than average spaces even though it is a one bedroom flat. The website doesn't say much more about getting the sofa into your house. I searched up and you have to wait for then to deliver the sofa. At this point they hadn't even attempted. The guys says if I can't get it in to the lift, ten flights of stairs is too much to take the sofa because of the same. I have a large stair well so I guess they can't be bothered. I would even pay for a day's wage for them to get it to my flat. I've paid a day's wage before it is £200 more or less. I would have arranged a moving company to do it. How ever I'm literally hearing this on the day. I asked them to bring the sofa up which ever way instead of me calling the office for what I'd be calling the office I don't know, I don't know. One of the guys some up by himself and the lift is too small, then asked to look at the space and says there isn't enough space for the sofa. There is enough space for the sofa, I even explained how you could get it into the living room. You could stand it up in the entry way, it can go in diagonally, there is a storage cupboard as their holding it. The guy took a picture of the entry way from the living room and says he can't deliver it. I've been waiting for the sofa for eight weeks at least.
I could almost cry as all this happened because yeah I was close to having the sofa I wanted. The sofa is £1142, it is beautiful, and look so comfortable. I was up set. When the guy leaves that time he says nothing about calling the office instead says their going to try to get the sofa in. They ended up just leaving and I had to call the office. I called the office and she booked a specialist team to come in on Sunday to see how they were going to get it in. Sunday? I'm pretty sure these people don't like to deliver on Sunday and if you book they take all your money. I book but I quickly realised that Sunday and a specialist team doesn't seem right, so I rebooked for Monday. I then called back and just got a refund despite here asking that I speak to the team about which sofa I should exchange it for and that is has to be a smaller sofa. For the same price? I even offered to get the sofa put up to my flat all they have to do is get in through the front door of the building to where the lifts are.
One of the things about design is how is the product going to be used. In order to that to be used or be useful does it satisfy specified requirements. One of the requirements is that is has to be fit in the space it will be used in. In this case it is. So as part of the design you have to be able to get it in a standard lift otherwise it is not suitable for a flat. According to the website it can be made modular but when I went to check out it wasn't an option. Where in the first instance you have to order a sofa and wait ten weeks and fitting requirements aren't given I don't see how this company achieves supporting customers because now have to order a sofa from another company. I guess it has to be modular or I'll specifically search for sofas designed for apartments and small spaces. Were the design requirements met for this sofa? No, because the product is unusable and it is unclear where the design is intended.
